Im a little late reviewing this as this exhibition ends today.  Stumbled upon it by accident whilst going to another exhibition and was glad as it was worth worth a look.  The exhibition basically focuses on art that Hazoume has contructed out fo disused petrol cannisters that are strewn along the roads of Benin and dscarded after they are used for the illegal smuggling of petrol from Nigeria.  As well as many interesting sculptors, there is also a short film of the smugglers carrying copious amounts of cans on their small motorbikes, fascinating to watch.  They also blow the cans up to triple their capacity in order to get more oil in, a dangerous thing to do.  Fascinating exhibition and a wonderful way to recycle discareded petrol cans.
